The ties and rails have been removed and are stored in bay 31. One of two Canadian Ingersoll-Rand power bogies. Each is a twin cylinder double-acting steam engine with Stevenson's Link reversing valve gear. Of the eight carrying wheels (four at each end) only two are driven. The bridge centre pivot bearing and compressed air feed. One of the two control stands with levers for reversing, throttle, clutch and a brake pedal. The new but empty turntable pit awaiting the restored bridge. A completely unique place to park is below the120 foot diameter turntable pit. Twenty-two concrete columns support the pit over 40 parking spaces. |
